The JAWARA dataset was produced by the joint project of The University of Tokyo, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), and National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR), under the support of the Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology (CREST; Grant Number JPMJCR1663, FY2016-2021), funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and KAKENHI (Grant Number JP22H00169, FY2022-2026), funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). The dataset was produced using the Earth Simulator and Data Analyzer (DA) system at the JAMSTEC.
Variables | Coordinates | Temporal resolution |
---|---|---|
Temperature, three-dimensional wind, geopotential height, temperature tendency from diabatic heating, and zonal and meridioinal forcings from gravity wave parameterization (orographic & non-orographic) | Longitude, latitude, pressure, and time | 1 hourly (snapshot) |
Temperature, zonal and meridional wind (analysis & increment), vertical wind and geopotential height (forecast) | Longitude, latitude, pressure, and time | 6 hourly (snapshot) |
